April 5th Volunteer Day
The Environmental Commission and Somerville Community need your support! We have 2 separate volunteer opportunities to get things set up for the season. 

Date/Time: 
  • Morning of April 5th, rain date is April 6th
  • Exact timing TBD, but we expect to begin between 9-10. 
  • Please reach out to EnvironmentalCommission@SomervilleNJ.org for any questions. 
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: 

1) Community Garden Clean Up and Seasonal Prep: 
  • Adding additional wood chip mulch for the pathways
  • Topping off the beds for the soil 
  • Organizing the shed 
2) Rain Garden Clean Up at Carol Pager Park: 
The gardens need some TLC! We will be focusing on the left-most garden, and will need to complete tasks like:
  • Cut back previous year's growth
  • Remove turf grass from garden beds
  • Move large river stones at inlet to clean out sediment
  • And other types of manual labor activities
