The Dorchester Farm Bureau is offering one or more scholarships for $1,000. The Dorchester County Farm Bureau Scholarship is available to any student who wishes to continue their education in an agricultural field. Continuing education may take the form of a two- or four-year degree or a certification training program at a fully accredited college, institution, or University within the United States. If you are selected, a scholarship check will be made payable to the student and college you are attending (following the completion of the first semester).
The Scholarship Committee will review the applications, and the Dorchester Farm Bureau Board of Directors will make the final decision. The Board of Directors reserves the option of not awarding a scholarship.
QUALIFICATIONS ARE:
- Must have a grade average of 3.0 or higher.
- Must be used to further their education in agriculture, agribusiness, or a related field.
- Transcripts of the recipient's grades must be sent to the Dorchester Farm Bureau at the end of the 1st completed semester. Recipients must have received a GPA of 2.5 or higher during the 1st semester in order to receive scholarship funds.
- It is preferable that you have a current family member in the Dorchester County Farm Bureau.
Although this scholarship is for one fiscal year, the recipient may reapply after their year is up. A snapshot and article of the recipient may be published in local papers in cooperation with Dorchester County Farm Bureau.
