Platform Committee Delegates are empowered to represent Democrats in Lane County and participate in the biennial Democratic Party of Oregon (DPO) Platform Convention. The only requirements for the position are you must be a Democrat who is registered to vote in Lane County.
The Convention will be held March 16-18, 2018. The DPO Platform Convention will be held at Parrish Middle School and North Salem High School, which are adjacent to each other. The address is 802 Capitol St NE in Salem.
Delegates who sign up will be elected as a slate at the DPLC Central Committee meeting on January 18, 2018. Prospective delegates are invited to attend this meeting, although it is not required to be selected for the position.
There is a registration fee associated with the DPO Platform Convention, which is anticipated to be $50 for returning delegates and $25 for first-time delegates or students. A need-based scholarship program will be available for those who cannot afford the registration fee.
