2020 AAHHE Graduate Student Fellows Program (GSFP) Application Procedures:
Thank you for your interest in applying for the 2020 AAHHE Graduate Student Fellows Program. Applicants must submit ALL materials no later than Friday, September 20, 2019 by 5:00pm PST.

PLEASE NOTE: the application will require you to fill out this form completely as well as email four files in a combined PDF format (statement of interest, resume/CV, research topic, & letter of recommendation) to aahhe.gsfp@gmail.com. Applications with missing files and/or late applications will not be considered. Previous conference fellowship recipients are not eligible to apply.

Checklist of required application materials (email to aahhe.gsfp@gmail.com):
- Application form
- Statement of Interest (no more than 1,000 words)
- Resume or Curriculum Vitae
- One letter of support from an advisor, supervisor, or faculty member (additional letters will not be considered by the committee)
- Research topic (no more than 150 words)
- Commitment Statement

It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that all materials are submitted properly no later than 5:00pm PST on Friday, September 20, 2019. Please submit all documents in PDF format. To avoid any inconveniences, please attach all documents in one PDF file. AAHHE will notify you by October 21, 2019 regarding the status of your application. Statement of Interest:
Please send a PDF version of your statement of interest (maximum of 1,000 words) to aahhe.gsfp@gmail.com. Your Statement of Interest should address the following three questions:
1) Why are you interested in attending the 2020 AAHHE National Conference as a Graduate Fellow; and how do you feel it will benefit you personally and professionally?
2) How do your future career goals align with the mission and values of AAHHE and the Graduate Student Fellows Program?
3) How do you feel your interests and experiences might enable you to contribute to a national cohort of colleagues and the AAHHE membership community as a whole?
Resume or Curriculum Vitae:
Please send a PDF version of your current resume or curriculum vitae to aahhe.gsfp@gmail.com. Please ensure that the title of the document includes your full name for referencing. Your resume or curriculum vitae should speak to your academic achievements, professional experiences, and involvement in research, professional associations, and community organizations. Be sure to include any other additional experiences which reflect the spirit of AAHHE.
Letter of Support:
Please send one letter support written by someone (e.g., advisor, supervisor, or faculty member) who can attest to your academic and leadership abilities, as well as indicate why this opportunity should be awarded to you (additional letters will NOT be considered).

The letter of support should be sent with your resume or curriculum vitae at the time of application submission. If the recommender prefers to submit their letter independently, please include an additional PDF page indicating who we should expect to receive the letter of recommendation from, and have your recommender send their PDF version letter directly to aahhe.gsfp@gmail.com by the deadline (Friday, September 20, 2019 by 5:00pm PST). Please ensure that your recommender includes your full name in the subject line of their email.

Please note: due to the large number of applications that we receive every year, we CANNOT accept late letters. It is your responsibility to ensure that all materials are submitted by the deadline. Please communicate this to your recommender.

Research Topic:
Please send a PDF version of one brief summary of a potential research topic you will share as a fellow to aahhe.gsfp@gmail.com. Part of the GSFP commitment entails sharing a research project with members of the AAHHE community. As a 2020 fellow, you will be required to share your work with other AAHHE Graduate Student Fellows and Alumni during the GSFP Research Symposium and/or in a poster session during the general conference opening reception. The work can be work in-progress, such as an idea of your dissertation topic, or a final paper, such as your dissertation findings. The goal is to provide you with critical and constructive feedback.
