Youth Orchestras of Lubbock Audition/Enrollment Form
Please fill in the information below to audition for the Fall 2019-Spring 2020 Orchestra Season. Please remember to bring your $30 audition fee at the time of your audition. CASH OR CHECK ONLY. Audition fees are non-refundable. Your audition will enable our conductors to ensure the students will be matched to the specific standards set for the group which they desire to perform with; for example, Philharmonic Strings players must be able to play vibrato.

Spring applicants are allowed only at the discretion of the conductors, in order to provide instrumentation needed. Please indicate if you are trying out for Strings or Woodwinds, Brass or Percussion and which orchestra group - beginning string players will be in Prelude Strings. For more advanced strings players, or early woodwind or brass musicians, you will try for either the Philharmonic (intermediate) Orchestra or Symphony (advanced) Orchestra.

AUDITION RESULTS
All students will be notified of audition results by May 10th. Results will also be on the website. If you have further questions regarding auditions, please email info@youthorchestrasoflubbock.org

FULL YEAR TUITION
$350.00 for Prelude Strings Orchestra (Early Strings Students)
$350.00 for Philharmonic Orchestra (Intermediate Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, and String Students)
$350.00 for Symphony Orchestra (Advanced Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, and String Students)

Please note: Additional fees may apply if students wish to participate in additional activities during the year which occur outside of the regular Fall and Spring concert series (a regular semester consists of 8 rehearsals and 1 concert each season).

REHEARSALS

FINANCIAL AID
Financial aid may be available to qualified students based on financial need. Submit a completed financial aid packet by June 1st. Orchestra(s) you are trying for: *
Indicate the Orchestra for which you intend to audition/perform with. Placement in the orchestra for which you audition is not automatic, but is based on the current year's audition. Participants are admitted on the basis of their performance ability, as evidenced by their audition, and placed at the appropriate orchestra level. Therefore, all students are always considered for EVERY orchestra, regardless of this request. It is only that this information indicates to us what you are hoping to achieve with the current audition. NOTE: All students MUST re-audition/reapply every year. Participation in the previous season does not automatically qualify admission into YOL for the next season. Strings students who want to move from 2nd to 1st Violin will also need to re-audition.

Statement of Commitment *
Being in Orchestra means that the entire group is depending upon you to be present for rehearsals and performances. The best learning experience is achieved when all member musicians are giving their best efforts consistently to achieve growth and success. For this reason, only one absence is allowed per season, and prior notice is required. We do understand emergencies occur; however, the orchestra must be a priority and we need the student's commitment. Are you available Sunday afternoons from 2-4:30 p.m.?
