Sugar Creek Opera will present the concert The Last Kiss of Summer on Sunday Sept. 29 at 7pm in Watseka at the Presbyterian Church at 215 E. Cherry St. The Last Kiss of Summer is a concert of American themed music about life in a small town. There will be 13 orchestra musicians which includes 4 violins, 2 cellos, 2 violas, 1string bass, a flute, clairinet, bassoon and piano. There will also be a soprano opera singer and a conductor. The soprano is international soprano Megan Brunning and the conductor is Casey Robards. Most of the orchestra players will be coming from University of Illinois School of Music. The music selections will be Copland's Appalachian Spring, Samuel Barber's Knoxville Summer of 1915, song selections from composer Ricky Ian Gordon and two new compositions from 19 year old composer, Isabella Stahl! Isabella's pieces will be a string quartet called Always Near and a soprano solo song called Evening Song. This is a wonderful concert to see and to experience!
