What volunteers help with:

We lean on the help of volunteers to work with our Event Guides to strengthen their content as well as help us make the best running routes possible. Our events are also strengthened by the kind, helpful volunteers that check in runners, set up food,  set up, tear down, and more. There may also be opportunities for volunteers to receive advanced copies of literature and evaluate them for Read & Run Chicago to consider.

We also are extremely appreciative of the volunteers that serve as our run supports. The bulk of volunteer opportunities are in this realm. Please read below for more information.

General Expectations for all run support volunteers

Read & Run Chicago Event Guides and Event Leads depend on the crucial help of volunteers. Volunteers do the important job of managing the group while out on a run and handling any emergencies, questions, or runner concerns so that the Event Lead can manage timing and logistics and the Event Guide is able to continue delivering the programming to the rest of the group.
