hash.peace has two categories of membership available for application. Please read, understand, and fulfill the criteria before applying for membership. Any applicant who does not meet the criteria for membership will be rejected. The Executive Committee will decide on the application for membership and shall not be required to provide any reason for the rejection of any membership application.

There are two (2) categories of membership available for application:

(a) Ordinary Membership is open to any Singapore citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident who are 21 years old and above.

(b) Student Membership is open to any Singapore citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident between 16 years old to 25 years old, who is enrolled in educational institutions formally registered and recognised under the governing laws of any country.


NOTE: Persons who are below 18 years of age shall not be accepted as members of the Society without the written consent of their parent or guardian.

Upon the approval of membership, the General Secretary shall, as soon as practicable, notify and request the applicant to pay the required entrance fee within twenty-eight (28) days upon receipt of said notice.

Members shall pay an entrance fee as set out below, upon the approval of their application:
(a) Ordinary members: S$50.00
(b) Student members: S$15.00

The Executive Committee shall have authority to rescind the approval if the entrance fee is not paid in full within the prescribed period.

1) All members are entitled to propose, lead and be part of activities in accordance with the Society’s objects.

2) Membership is not transferable and, unless stated otherwise in this Constitution, a right, privilege or obligation which a person has by reason of being a member of the Society is not capable of being transferred or transmitted to another person; and terminates upon cessation of the person’s membership.

3) All members who are aged 21 and above shall have the right to vote and hold office in the Society subject to the respective conditions for holding office as stipulated in the constitution.

4) A copy of the Constitution shall be furnished to every approved member upon payment of the entrance fee.

5) All members shall:
(a) attend the Annual General Meeting and exercise their voting rights;
(b) uphold the good reputation and interests of the Society;
(c) use their best endeavours to support the Society in the promotion and advancement of the Society’s objects;
(d) to observe and respect all provisions of the Constitution of the Society, including all resolutions and policies;
(e) respect and act in accordance with the Society’s Code of Conduct;
(f) not to speak on behalf of the Society in any official discourse or communiqué unless given prior approval by the Executive Committee; and
(g) perform any duties assigned by the Society, or required by the law diligently and ethically.

1) A person ceases to be a member of the Society if the person:
(a) dies;
(b) resigns that membership; or
(c) is expelled from the Society.  

2) A member may resign from membership by way of written notice to the General Secretary and upon the expiration of a period of notice of two (2) weeks, the member ceases to be a member.

3) A member may be expelled if, in the opinion of the Executive Committee, he or she has:
(a) Through his or her actions, or comments, brought the Society into disrepute;
(b) Persistently refused or neglected to comply with the whole or any part of this Constitution, the Society’s Code of Conduct or any other supplementary policies of the Society; or
(c) Through his or her words or conduct, demonstrated that he or she no longer shares the objects of the Society stated hereto.

4) Decisions on expulsion shall be made by a majority vote by the Executive Committee. An aggrieved member may appeal within one (1) month from the date of his or her expulsion, to the General Meeting of members, whose decision shall be final.

5) Entrance fees already paid are not refundable upon cessation of membership.
