Dear Friends of SEACoast,
SEACoast is pleased to invite you to our first Slow Seminar of the Fall quarter,
October 3, 3 - 5 PM. We will be discussing Sebastian Prange's book,
Monsoon Islam: trade and faith on the medieval Malabar Coast. We are delighted to have Wayne Huang, PhD student from the Anthropology Department at UCSC to start us off with opening remarks.
This is a
hybrid event, which will be held at
Room 261, Social Sciences 1 (
map) and on zoom. For those attending in person, we hope you can stay for a small reception following our discussion.
Please use this form to register for the event and indicate if you plan to attend remotely or in person.
We ask that participants attending the discussion part of the event prepare by reading the book. The e-book is available through the UCSC library at this
link.
