Annual membership in the Delta Community Music Fees
Annual membership in the Delta Community Music School Society is $10.00 for adults (19+). One membership = one vote. Children under 19 are included in a Family Membership, represented by one adult parent/guardian. Family memberships are also $10.00/year (one vote per Family Membership). Membership is in effect from July 1 to June 30. Membership is forfeited upon withdrawal from lessons unless otherwise requested. Annual registration fees are $60 for adult individuals and the first member of a family. The second family member pays a $25 registration fee. No registration fee is charged for subsequent family members. Registration fees are annual (Sept 1 - June 30) and are non-refundable. At the time of enrollment, we require a deposit of $250 calculated as: $10 membership fee plus $60 registration fee for the first student (the second student pays a $25 registration fee, the third and subsequent students pay a $0 registration fee) plus $180 towards tuition for enrollment in the first class. Subsequent classes require a $250 tuition deposit per class. Lessons will not commence until payment is received. Our tuition rates for private lessons effective September 1st 2025 are as follows: - 30 minute lesson = $37.55 - 45 minute lesson = $55.20 - 60 minute lesson = $70.60 - 90 minute lesson = $108.20. Tuition fees paid by cash, cheque, credit card or E-transfer must be paid in advance for the semester. Fees are pro-rated for students that enroll in lessons after the semester has started. Tuition is also pro-rated depending on which day of the week statutory holidays take place (please see: Scheduled School Closures). We offer the following payment options: One payment in full either online through the customer portal by credit card, E-transfer, or by cash or cheque dropped off at the school before lessons start. Three payments either online through the customer portal by credit card, E-transfer or by cash or cheque dropped off at the school. After paying the enrollment deposit (which includes: the membership fee, the registration fee(s), and the tuition fee(s) deposit) the remaining tuition is paid in two equal installments on Sep 1st and Jan 1st. Ten payments either online through the customer portal by credit card, E-transfer, or by cash or cheque dropped off at the school. After paying the enrollment deposit (which includes: the membership fee, the registration fee(s), and the tuition fee(s) deposit) the remaining tuition is divided into nine equal installments due the first of each month from Sep 1st through May 1st Please note: the tuition fee(s) part of the enrollment deposit does not replace September's tuition. The tuition deposit covers the final lessons of the semester, not the first lessons. Cheques are to be made payable to: "Delta Community Music School" or "DCMS" and are due and payable upon receipt of an invoice or upon receipt of an email indicating that the customer's account has payments that are due. PAYMENT OF THE ENROLLMENT DEPOSIT MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE SCHOOL BEFORE THE SPOT WILL BE HELD FOR THE STUDENT. i.
Student Initiated Cancellations:
Please note that lessons cancelled by the student may not be made up. Make up
lesson policy is at the sole discretion of the instructor (see Make up Lessons
below). Non-attendance of lessons does not constitute withdrawal.
ii.
Group Lessons:
Due to the continuous nature of group lessons, missed lessons cannot be made up
and withdrawal from classes cannot be refunded.
iii.
Student Initiated Withdrawal or
Instructor Change:
In the event of student withdrawal, or a student initiated change of
instructor, 15 days' notice for weekly lessons must be given, 30 days for
bi-weekly lessons (adjusted for Hallowe'en, Christmas, Easter, and Spring
Breaks closures). This notice must be given whether or not the student attends
these lessons. There will be no refund of fees for this period of notice.
Registration fees are not refundable.
iv.
Instructor Initiated Cancelled Lessons:
Most of our instructors are performing artists. This means there may be some
disruption of the normal lesson times. The instructor will do everything
possible to find a mutually agreeable time to make up any lessons they cancel
due to illness or personal/professional commitments. In the event that a time
convenient to both parties is not found, credits or refunds will be issued at
the end of the term.
v.
Make-up Lessons:
If lesson(s) are cancelled by the parent/student, it is at the sole
discretion of the instructor whether or not to provide a make-up
lesson. Instructors are under no obligation to do so. Parents/Students are
highly encouraged to contact their instructor prior to enrolling in a
class to discuss the instructor's make-up policy. The instructors are
here for your lesson whether or not you are able to attend and we are therefore
unable to issue refunds for any missed lessons. However, if the instructor
cancels a lesson, you will either receive a make-up lesson or you will be
refunded for that lesson at the end of the term.
