Ensemble Choice - information
There are several options in the Horton Music Department. Some groups are by audition or invitation, and some are open to everyone. Please note rehearsal times when choosing an ensemble. Here is some important information about the ensembles:

Grade 9 Band - During school hours, every other day for the full school year

Grade 10 Band - During school hours, every other day for the full school year.

Senior Concert Band - For grade 11's and 12's, or by audition. Rehearsals are every Tuesday and Thursday at 7 :30 AM. There will be two sectionals each month, scheduled by section leaders.

Concert Choir - For everyone. Rehearsals are Friday at 7:30 AM. There will be occasional lunchtime sectionals

Jazz Band - For grade 9's through 12's. Members must be able to play their instrument well and be willing to work on challenging music. Rehearsals are Monday and Wednesday mornings at 7:30

Jazz Combo - for Grades 11's and 12's or by audition. Rehearsals are MOnday at 3:30 to start with and may change based on the group's needs.

Glee Club - By audition for all grade levels. Rehearsals times are TBA, based on director and student availability

Student Ensemble Choice
If you know which ensemble(s) you want to participate in, check them below. Multiple choices are allowed. If you are not sure, you can still complete this form and submit it, and pick your group(s) later. If you are registered for Music 9 or Music 10, please check 'Grade 9 Band', or 'Grade 10 Band'. Rehearsals for extra-curricular bands start on September 19th
Parent Volunteer Choices
Parents are asked to volunteer 10-15 hours of their time throughout the year. Please choose your top three choices. Information about these jobs can be obtained through the music director and in the shared folder. Please note that parents who wish to be part of the Music Parents Executive may not receive their first choice of job. Often, these positions are filled before the school year starts, from among the committee chairs. If you are planning on making a donation in lieu of volunteering, that choice is at the bottom of the drop-down lists.

Baking/Concert Refreshments
We do not have a committee dedicating to baking, rather we ask all parents to donate food for concert intermission sales. Home-made is not necessary; there are many nice baked goods and trays at the grocery store. Please indicate which concert(s) you would rather supply food to;

Pick a specific event to volunteer for and fill in the slots. Aim to put your name down in three spots (on different events), unless you are choosing an executive position, which fulfills your entire volunteer requirements.
