EDGE is an 8-months program established to guide college students in becoming self-assured leaders. The Program offers you a chance to give back to the community by providing college students career guidance and taking on an active role with helping students build their learning experience. You will be paired up with a college student allowing you to share your wisdom, assist mentees in preparing resumes/interviews, grow your network, and more!
Expectations: You will be shaping your mentee's learning experiences through providing 2 learning projects throughout the 8 months that will help your mentee build their portfolio/resume with skills and gain deeper knowledge. You will be working alongside your mentee to ensure that their learning goals and your project goals align. There will be bi-weekly hybrid check-ins with your mentee on their projects to provide feedback, address concerns or questions and providing the next deliverable.
Time Commitment: Throughout the year, we will have 4 x 1 - 1.5 hr in-person workshop events that will engage mentors and mentees to work on professional development together. You are also required to do at least 8 check-ins during the two project timeframe which can range between 5 mins to 30 mins with your mentee through hybrid meeting options (in-person, zoom, call) with flexibility on dates. For logistical purposes, all the workshops and check-ins will be held on Saturdays.
