It's the last Radical Reads discussion of the semester! Radical Reads is a monthly discussion group dedicated to challenging the status quo to create a more caring and just world through reading, listening, conversation and action. This discussion series will use readings, podcasts, and other media to engage the BMCC community in current social, political, and economic issues through a critical, abolitionist lens. When possible, relevant community organizations and leaders will also be invited to participate and speak to us about how we can get organized and take action in our own communities.
Students who attend two Rad Reads sessions in a semester will receive co-curricular transcript credit.
Join us on Wednesday, December 1 from 11am-12pm to discuss disability justice. Please read or listen to the following prior to our discussion (all are free and publicly available):
Read: What is Disability Justice? (10 minutes)
Watch: Intersections of Disability Justice and Transformative Justice (4 minutes)
Read: 10 Principles of Disability Justice from Sins Invalid (10 minutes)
