The Women’s History Month Committee is seeking distinguished women from the El Camino College campus and community to honor at this year’s Distinguished Women’s event.
If selected, honorees will have their portraits hung in the El Camino College Women’s Wall of Fame gallery over the next year, will have their names engraved on a perpetual plaque in the gallery, and will receive a certificate of recognition during the Women’s History Month reception on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
Please nominate a woman of distinction who has contributed to the El Camino College and/or larger campus community by completing the Nomination Form below. Friends, family, colleagues, or students may make nominations, or individuals may nominate themselves.
CRITERIA:
• Nominees must work at El Camino College or reside or work in the communities within the El Camino College district: El Segundo, Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Inglewood, Lawndale, Lennox, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach and Torrance.
• Nominee will be considered based on their contribution(s) to women’s and girls’ causes at the college or community level.
• Nominees will be considered based on how they embody this year’s National Women’s History Month theme: “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future”.
2026 WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH THEME"Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future expands our understanding of sustainability beyond just environmental concerns. It encompasses financial sustainability, community resilience, leadership succession, and intergenerational equity. Whether developing green technologies, advancing economic justice, strengthening education systems, or building civic power – women are designing blueprints for sustainable transformation."
