A 2-4 hour shift at the RYM qualifies for our Token for your Time program. You will receive a limited edition Wood Token from Levitated Toy Factory. The token can be used for all of the fresh produce, delectable food, and exciting art. Exclusive volunteer and vendor potlucks, to better acquaint yourselves and network outside of the busy day of market.
Areas where we need help include:
Morning Set-up: The morning "Dawn Patrol" is an important place for volunteers, who get to see the quiet magic of the historic site buzz and grow into excitement in early hours. We put up signs to get the word out and keep everyone organized, and also have the opportunity to prep the historic site before vendors and attendees arrive!
Green Team: The market has a commitment to sustainability and preserving the cherished Blacksmith shop. The Green Team beautifies the space and educates visitors on the importance of recycling, composting and more!
P.A.'s: If your area of interest leans more towards the arts and education, the P.A.'s can help assist in the entertainment or education departments. It may include greeting and assisting the performers to moving and lifting equipment, or assisting in educating the public from the already programmed schedule in the Traditional and Sustainability Zone.
Vendor Loading & Assistance: Its a busy time in the morning and afternoon, and we can use all the extra hands possible to keep things safe and efficient.
Greeters & Safety Ambassadors: Sometimes lifting and running about isn't for everyone. The market can always use friendly faces at our main entrance greeting patrons as they arrive, and keeping count of in's and out's (for Fire Code compliance).
Children's Zone: The interactive activities in our fun kids area and other educational zones often require some friendly volunteers to monitor attendees and assist educators.
Outside Ambassadors: To maintain a pleasant experience for attendees and vendors, volunteers direct traffic and greet everyone outside the venue.
Information Booth: Educate the public about the market's mission, and assist with merchandise and other information.
There's so much more! The market is a magical and inspiring experience, and we welcome the unique contributions and passion from all of our volunteers. Thank you for your interest and support of this community project!
