Welcome to the submission form for the Beyond Academia track at Participatory Design Conference (PDC) 2020 in Manizales, Colombia. For more information see: http://www.pdc2020.org/beyond-academia/

WHO CAN SUBMIT:
The Beyond Academia track invites contributions from practitioners active in community, commercial, government, and not-for-profit spaces who are exploring participatory frameworks in their work.

The invitation to submit is open to anyone grappling with the potential and the challenges of participation in any of the conference anchor areas. For more information about this years theme see: http://www.pdc2020.org/call-for-papers/

WHY ATTEND:
Attending PDC offers the opportunity to connect with an international community of participatory design researchers and practitioners exploring the emergent challenges and struggles of participation and power in a range of different settings.

HOW TO SUBMIT:
You can submit via text only using this form or provide a link to a 2 minute video submission also using this form. All submissions must be in English. At this stage we anticipate that all presentations will also be in English, if you prefer to present in Spanish or Portuguese you can indicate this below and if we can support this we will let you know, but please be prepared to present in English.

KEY DATES:
The deadline for submissions is December 1 2019.

1st December 2019 — Submission deadline (online form)
15th February - Notifications of acceptance will be sent
15th March Accepted submissions provide finalised 2 paged description or summary*

HOW THE SUBMISSION SELECTION PROCESS WORKS:
The final programme will be determined by the Beyond Academia co-chairs. If you have any questions about the conference or how to submit, please get in touch and we can work with you to support your submission. beyondacademia@pdc2020.org

We will be in touch with who have submitted by February 15th 2020 to confirm whether we are able to include your submission in the programme. We may also contact you with further questions about your submission and to work with you about the final format.

*Accepted submissions will need to provide a 2 page finalised summary using a specified format template that can be included in Volume 3 of the proceedings.

FEES
Please note due to the way the conference is funded (aligned to academic funding models) all those attending must pay the conference registration even if they are presenting. Final fees information will be available here in December : http://www.pdc2020.org/registration/ It is anticipated that registration fee for an individual will be approx US$300-400 (to be confirmed).
