WHO CAN SUBMIT:
The Beyond Academia track invites contributions from practitioners active in community, commercial, government, and not-for-profit spaces who are exploring participatory frameworks in their work.
The invitation to submit is open to anyone grappling with the potential and the challenges of participation in any of the conference anchor areas. For more information about this years theme see:
Attending PDC offers the opportunity to connect with an international community of participatory design researchers and practitioners exploring the emergent challenges and struggles of participation and power in a range of different settings.
HOW TO SUBMIT:
You can submit via text only using this form or provide a link to a 2 minute video submission also using this form. All submissions must be in English. At this stage we anticipate that all presentations will also be in English, if you prefer to present in Spanish or Portuguese you can indicate this below and if we can support this we will let you know, but please be prepared to present in English.
The deadline for submissions is December 1 2019.

15th March Accepted submissions provide finalised 2 paged description or summary*
HOW THE SUBMISSION SELECTION PROCESS WORKS:
The final programme will be determined by the Beyond Academia co-chairs. If you have any questions about the conference or how to submit, please get in touch and we can work with you to support your submission.
We will be in touch with who have submitted by February 15th 2020 to confirm whether we are able to include your submission in the programme. We may also contact you with further questions about your submission and to work with you about the final format.
*Accepted submissions will need to provide a 2 page finalised summary using a specified format template that can be included in Volume 3 of the proceedings.
Please note due to the way the conference is funded (aligned to academic funding models) all those attending must pay the conference registration even if they are presenting. Final fees information will be available here in December :
It is anticipated that registration fee for an individual will be approx US$300-400 (to be confirmed).

Final presentation formats offered will depend on the overall submissions and we will work with the confirmed submissions to shape the final format. Please indicate your preferred format.
Lightning presentation (e.g., 8 minutes or PechaKucha style)

Sharing tools/techniques (a specific tool or technique to share at an interactive session)
Session Description or Video
Please provide a more detailed description of your submission below via text (500 words max) OR as a 2 minute video submission. Tell us, for example the project intent, what happened, who was involved and the key outcomes, or the key messages/topics you will cover. If you are submitting by video please paste the link to the video below.

Presentation Language Preference
Please note your preferred presentation language if translation support becomes available. Please note - all submissions need to be prepared to present in English but we are looking into the possibility of translation support so we can have multi-lingual presentations.
