Welcome to the Lexington Public Library Experiential Learning Spaces.
The Lexington Public Library has four Experiential Learning Spaces, Northside Digital Studio, Central Kloiber Foundation STEAM Lab, Eastside Makerspace, and Marksbury Family Branch Makerspace.
The experiential learning spaces offer a collaborative work space for making, learning, exploring and sharing. The spaces use both high tech and low tech equipment. The Digital Studio and Eastside Makerspace are designed for teens and adults, the Kloiber Foundation STEAM Lab is designed for students 3rd - 12th grade, and the Marksbury Family Branch Makerspace is designed for all ages.

The spaces have a variety of maker equipment including 3D printers, sewing machines, tabletop kiln, audio and video recording, computers, Cricut and heat press. Each space has different equipment so please contact the space for an equipment list. Northside Digital Studio

Agreement & Equipment Use Policy
1. Customer must be age 13 or over to use the equipment by themselves.
2. Library staff will be available to assist in explaining operation of equipment. However, by using the equipment, the customer is certifying that he or she is capable of using that item in a safe and reasonable manner.
3. Only the customer (who has signed the waiver) is authorized to use the equipment.
4. Customers must finish using the equipment half an hour before closing time and the equipment must be cleaned up when finished. Customers can not start a project one hour before closing time.
5. The customer agrees that staff are not responsible for any manufacturing defects in quality of workmanship or materials inherent in any equipment used.
6. The customer agrees that if any equipment becomes unsafe or in a state of disrepair, they must immediately discontinue use of equipment and notify staff immediately.
7. All equipment and library property is to be returned in the same condition that they were issued, barring normal wear and tear. The customer agrees to pay for the loss of or damage to any item and further agrees to accept staff assessment of condition of items and to further agree to staff assessment of fair restitution for damage, dirtiness, delinquency, and/or loss of items in part or in total. This restitution amount could equal the full replacement cost of the item.
8. Customers are prohibited from using the equipment in any way that violates applicable law, in any way that violates Library policy, or to produce material that is harassing, discriminatory, or in any way infringes on a third party's legal rights.
9. Staff reserves the right to refuse the usage of any item at their discretion.

I state that I have read and fully understand the rules and regulations of the Experiential Learning Spaces and I understand that failure to comply with any of these rules may result in revocation of my borrowing privileges and/or legal action against me. I have read and signed a waiver and release form, relinquishing any and all claims against the Lexington Public Library, and the officers, agents, and employees of the aforementioned entity.

The library is not responsible for any object created with the use of said equipment, including any harm or injury incurred as a result of any usage of said equipment.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PROVIDED BY LAW, BY USING THE EQUIPMENT CUSTOMER AGREES THAT IN NO EVENT WILL THE LIBRARY, ITS AFFILIATES OR ITS EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OFFICERS OR DIRECTORS BE LIABLE FOR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, UNDER ANY LEGAL THEORY, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH CUSTOMER'S USE, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PERSONAL INJURY, PAIN AND SUFFERING, EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF BUSINESS OR ANTICIPATED SAVINGS, LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF GOODWILL, LOSS OF DATA, AND WHETHER CAUSED BY TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), BREACH OF CONTRACT OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF FORESEEABLE.

Customer agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Library, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, successors and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these terms.
