In consideration for receiving permission for the above person to participate in the Big 5 Horse Shows, I/we the parents or legal guardians of the above person, if participant is under the age of 18 (hereinafter referred to as “RELEASERS”) hereby RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE and COVENANT NOT TO SUE the Big 5 Horse Association, all fellow participants, arena owners, arena operators, producers and any and all persons connected with the Big 5 Horse Association Show season (hereinafter referred to as “ RELEASE”) from losses, damages, or injury to me, my child (or child for whom I am the legal guardian), my equipment, and /or any animals resulting from my attending and participating in the Big 5 Horse Shows.
Releasers are fully aware that there are inherent risks involved in the equine activity. Such risks may include but not limited to: The tendency of an animal to behave in ways that may result in injury, harm or even death to persons on or around them. The unpredictability of an animal’s reaction to such things as sounds, sudden movement and unfamiliar objects, persons or other animals. Certain hazards such as surface and subsurface conditions. Collisions and contact with other animals or objects.
IN SIGNING THIS RELEASE, RELEASERS ACKNOWLEDGE and REPRESENT THAT they have read the foregoing Assumption of Risk and Hold Harmless Agreement, understand it and sign it voluntarily as their own free act and deed, no oral representations, statement or inducement apart from the foregoing agreements have been made.
I further certify that I have available at the request of event management, a current negative Coggins test for each animal I have on the grounds. Releasers execute this document for full, adequate and complete consideration fully intending to be bound by it.
