Intro to Improv: This short course is geared towards folks who have had no formal training in improv. It is where we recommend most folks start, even if (for example), you've attended several drop-ins. The course gives you the basic tools of improv - getting out of your head, having your partner's back, and 'yes-and'ing - with an emphasis on building a fun, safe environment in which to play. This class emphasizes skills and team-building exercises; scenework begins in Level 1.
As Intro to Improv is a shorter class, we are offering it twice during the trimester; there is no difference between the two options above.
Level 2 is an eight-week course
generally open to those who have successfully completed Level 1. Level 2 focuses on building and sustaining stories over the course of a scene. There are many opportunities for scenework.
