Bechdel Project has two large studio spaces which are made available to the community for work that amplifies the voices and stories of women, non-binary, and underrepresented genders.
We grant between 130-150 studio hours each month on a first come/first served basis pending review of proposals by Bechdel Project staff about 4 times a year in seasonal cycles. Please consider the following parameters before applying:
1. Are you applying for the appropriate time period during an open grant cycle?
2. Studio occupancy is 35 people.
2. Hours of operation are 9am-9pm.
3. Community space can be used for: rehearsals, meetings, classes, presentations, workshops, small scale photography and video shoots. Events open to the public are considered on a case by case basis and all public offerings must be free to the community.
4. We can not offer artistic development outside of our ROO Resident and FIFE Fellows at this time. We also can not offer living accommodations or overnight storage of personal items.
5. Anyone who wishes to use our community space must submit signed copies of our terms and conditions which outline our host rules, reciprocity offerings, and health and wellness protocol.
Please allow up to 10 business days for us to contact you with any follow up questions and/or to let you know if you have been awarded a grant. Thank you in advance for sharing your work with us!
