The South Asian American Policy & Research Institute (SAAPRI) would like to learn about your experience with hate crimes and hate crime reporting. Your story is important. By gathering information, we can push for better protection, educational resources, and policies that can put an end to the discrimination, hate and xenophobia the South Asian American community faces.
This form is for research and data collection purposes. It is not to be used to report hate crimes. Please contact your local law enforcement authority if you have been a victim of a hate crime.
A hate crime is defined by the FBI as a “criminal offense against a person or property motivated in whole or in part by an offender’s bias against a race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, gender, or gender identity.”
The responses we receive will go into making policy recommendations to improve the safety and security of our community, which we know suffers from a history of underreporting incidents of hate crimes.
SAAPRI makes every effort to keep your responses anonymous unless you consent to disclosing your name. Your name and contact information are not required for your participation in this study.
