BACKGROUND:
The 10x10 YPS impact stories initiative is a collaborative effort between UNFPA, UNDP, the United Network of Young Peacebuilders (UNOY), and the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) to document, disseminate and spotlight the successes and contributions of young people to the YPS agenda over the past decade. This initiative will also focus on the impact of UNSCR 2250 on the work of young people, and the pending challenges and opportunities they see for the future of YPS. It will feature the stories of 10 fresh, aspiring young people making a difference today, and amplify the impact of 10 pioneers who have been instrumental in shaping and advancing the YPS agenda.
OBJECTIVES:
The primary objectives of the "10x10 YPS Stories" initiative are to:
- Document 20 compelling stories (10 "fresh" and 10 "pioneer") showcasing the impact of young people on the YPS agenda.
- Highlight the diverse contributions of young people across the five pillars of the YPS agenda: (Participation, Protection, Prevention, Partnership, and Disengagement and Reintegration).
- Provide a platform for young people to articulate their vision for the future of the YPS agenda.
- Develop a high-quality, accessible product (e.g., publication, website, multimedia) to disseminate these stories widely.
- Strengthen the collaboration between UNFPA, UNDP, UNOY Peacebuilders, and GPPAC in advancing the YPS agenda.
