Local Houses of Prayer are a simple way of encouraging Christians to take more spiritual responsibility for the areas where they live or possibly where they work. If the Church is going to be effective in its witness it needs its foot soldiers to represent Christ where they live, whether in their parish or beyond it.

Local Houses of Prayer encourage Christians to come together in their localities and pray for the Kingdom of God to come where they are, in their patch of the universe.

Alongside Prayer and Praise, LHOPs put a renewed emphasis on blessing as part of the process of seeing God’s kingdom come. Caleb questions ask us to ask God “Who can I show mercy to?” “Who can I bless in word or deed?” “Who can I share the Gospel with?” “Who could you encourage to join you?”

The Way of Blessing Course helps lay key foundations for people thinking of starting a Local House of Prayer as well as supporting those who are already up and running.
