Overload 2019 Cosplay Open Stage Rules
Costumes and Props
While Cosplayers in costume from any genre are welcome at Overload, because it is essentially an Anime and Manga oriented convention, Open Stage priority will be given to appropriate Anime and Manga themed presentations.

Overload is a family-friendly event so any costumes with excessive exposure or indecency are not permitted. Overload Staff Reserve the Right to decide what is unacceptable and request that you not display, or make required modification, as necessary.

Props are permitted, but must not be dangerous, excessively large, or cause mess or damage. Any prop which may resemble a weapon, is large, narrows to a point, is sharp or heavy enough to cause possible harm, or any item which could otherwise cause harm to other attendees or property, is considered as dangerous. Other restrictions regarding such props are that they cannot be made of solid metal, or be of any other legally prohibited nature. For general safety, and peace of mind of the general public, such props should not be more than 1.5m in height and 1.2m in width, and no more than 5kg in weight.

All props must be checked in at the information desk and verified for safety before they will be allowed in the venue. An orange safety tag or tip/end will be affixed to realistic weapon type props items to signify that they have been checked, are not real weapons, and are an authorised Cosplay prop.
Audio Files must be provided in mp3 Format.
Video Files must be provided in mp4 Format at either 720p or 1080p resolution.
Files must be uploaded to a Cloud based file storage service (for example, Google Drive) and an unrestricted share link provided.

As a back-up, please bring your files with you on a USB flash drive. We have had occasions in the past where the wrong files were provided to us.
As the Overload Schedule is pre-planned, there are no provisions for arbitrary extensions of Stage time. If you are not present and able to perform you will NOT be allocated another time.
If you are on stage, your performance must end on time, otherwise you may be asked to abruptly stop your performance and leave the stage. Please plan ahead accordingly to avoid any such occurrences.

There is a maximum time limit of 10 minutes. (If time permits you may be allowed more than one performance, however, this will depend on how many acts subscribe for this event, so we will not be able to offer this until after registrations are closed).
Please be aware that the Stage is elevated 600 millimetres (60 centimetres) off the ground.
Falling off the Stage at that height can cause serious injury.
The Overload stage measures 8.4 metres wide by 4.8 metres deep. We recommend rehearsing in an area marked out with these measurements to ensure your performance happens safely.

Members of the Public are NOT to be invited onto the Stage. If you attempt to invite the public onto the stage, your performance will be stopped for safety reasons.
Arriving at the Stage before your performance
Please arrive at the stage ahead of the Scheduled time slot for the Cosplay Open Stage and sign in with the Technician/Stage Manager. If you do not sign in, or do not arrive ahead of time, you will not be able to perform.
Stage Management
Please pay attention and promptly follow any directions you are given by the Stage Manager, he has complete control of all stage related matters.
