Join The Girls Gone Green for a cleanup day on the Matanzas Riverkeeper's Litter Gitter Saturday, Aug. 31 from 8-10 a.m.! We will be meeting in St. Augustine (exact location TBA) to help clean up remote areas along the coastline to rid them of trash that negatively impacts the environment and wildlife.
We recommend you bring a reusable water bottle, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. All volunteers are required to wear pants and protective footwear (tennis shoes or boots – no sandals or flipflops). Be sure to wear clothing you don't mind getting wet or muddy. The Litter Gitter II will provide all the tools and equipment necessary to collect debris.
We are limited on how many volunteers can sign up for this event due to space constraints on the vessel. The more volunteers we have, the less trash we will be able to collect on the boat. Therefore, we are limiting the number of volunteers to 8. If you are bringing a friend, please be sure to have them register separately so we can get an accurate count. If you have signed up but can no longer attend, please be courteous and let us know so we can open your spot for another volunteer. If you need to cancel or if you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The exact meeting location will be emailed to you as the event draws closer. We will be departing from the St. Augustine area, so give yourself plenty of time to arrive at the destination and be ready to clean up!
