Exhibition Summary
The NACC is proud to announce it’s annual Artists of Color Exhibition in our Main Gallery.

Artists of all ages and backgrounds are invited to participate.

This exhibit is envisioned as a comprehensive representation of the African American experience from the historical, contemporary and personal perspective.

All visual art genres and mediums - two-dimensional and three-dimensional - from artists of all backgrounds are eligible for entry to this show.

Prizes awarded
for overall composition and interpretation of theme.
1st, 2nd, 3rd place prizes, monetary awards sent via check after the opening reception. Value TBA.


Deadline: Feb 2nd, 5 PM – artwork must be delivered to the NACC with completed entry paperwork and the exhibit fee.
Exhibit Fee: $30 for the first two pieces and $10 for up to two (2) additional pieces. (Four (4) piece maximum). Entry fees can be paid with cash, or by check or money order made payable to Niagara Arts and Cultural Center and mailed to: NACC, 1201 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.

Reception: 2018 Artists of Color Exhibition opens on Saturday, February 10th from 5 – 7 PM, with an Artists’ Reception Awards will be presented at approximately 6 p.m. This opening is part of the NACC’s SECOND SATURDAYS Programming Series.

Awards: Monetary awards sent via check after the opening reception.

Pick Up: Art must be picked up March 19 - 26th, the NACC is not responsible for artworks that remain in our space after March 26th, artworks may be discarded or donated.

Artists of Color: Freedom: 2018 Artists of Color Exhibition also features the following program:

• The Heritage Gallery: Freedom Crossing Exhibit – Permanent Exhibit featuring Underground Railroad history in Niagara Falls. Open daily, M-F 9-5 and S-S 12-4. Admission: Suggested Donation of $2.

General Information
• Please submit only work that is for sale. We will not accept “Price on Request” .
• Please price your artwork to include a 25% commission for NACC in your sell price.
• Prizes will be awarded for the best in show at the opening reception, checks will be mailed to winners within 15 business days.
Eligibility for Gallery Exhibit
• This exhibition is open to all artists. All artwork must be original and made by the artist.
• Work that is not suitable for hanging / display will not be accepted for the exhibition
• Two-dimensional works must be framed and WIRED for installation, now hooks or toothed hangers. Un-wired works will be omitted from the exhibit and no refund will be given.
• Three-dimensional works must have a clean, non-abrasive base or be mounted on a pedestal.
Entry Guidelines
• Complete the online entry form or visit www.thenacc.org to download a PDF version of this form. Physical forms can be picked up at the Main Office, 2nd Floor of the NACC.
• All mediums of artwork will be accepted including but not limited to oil painting, mixed media, photography, sculpture.
• You will be notified if your work will be included in the Gallery Exhibit
• Selected Works: Exhibit fee is $30 for the first two pieces / additional pieces may $10 each. DUE UPON DROP OFF - Artworks will not be accepted without full entry payment.

Drop-Off Procedures
• Attach a label to the back or underside of each piece with the artist name, title, medium & price.
• Complete the gallery exhibit permission sheet and submit artist bio and art statement
• Drop off work during NACC hours

The NACC hours for artwork drop off and pick up will be Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to 4 pm. If you would like to drop off or pick up artwork at any other time please contact Rachel@thenacc.org or call Rachel at 282-7530 to make an appointment that is more convenient for your schedule.
