Ensemble Ipse 2018 Call for Scores
Ensemble Ipse is pleased to announce its 2018 Call for Scores.

Ensemble Ipse is a dynamic contemporary music sextet. We present recent music that transcends aesthetic categorization and strive to create a forum for composers on the edges of the mainstream of contemporary music.

We are seeking pieces for TWO performance opportunities:

-Latin American Composers Exhibition Concert – Spring 2018
-Performer Portrait Series Concert – Spring 2018

Please see separate guidelines for each opportunity below:

*********Latin American Composers Exhibition Concert – Spring 2018*********

We are seeking recent pieces composed for flute(s), clarinet(s), violin, cello, piano, and percussion, or any subset, by composers of any age and at the early stages of their career, and who are of Latin-American heritage. We will choose one piece to perform on our concert of Latin American Composers in New York City in the Spring of 2018, and will continue to review submissions for future concerts.

Eligibility:

-Any composer of Latin American heritage is eligible regardless of age, sex, color, creed, sexual orientation, marital status, disability or veteran status.

-Pieces should be no longer than 15 minutes in duration and must be composed for any combination of flute(s), clarinet(s), violin, cello, piano, and percussion (up to 6 players). Pieces featuring electronics are welcome. Pieces may have not been performed in New York City or recorded professionally.

-Although it is not required, we strongly encourage chosen composers (if they are not local) to travel to New York City for the concert, date to be announced shortly. Ipse cannot provide travel or housing accommodations.

-Composers may submit up to three pieces for consideration.


*********Performer Portrait Series Concert – Spring 2018*********

We are seeking recent pieces composed for violin and/or piano (solos or duets), with or without electronics. This concert will feature renowned performers Esther Noh (violin) and Geoff Burleson (piano). We will choose one piece to perform on our Performer Portrait Concert in New York City in 2018, and will continue to review submissions for future concerts. Applicants for our Performer Portrait Concert do not need to be of Latin American Heritage.


Eligibility:

-Any composer of is eligible regardless of age, sex, color, creed, nationality, sexual orientation, marital status, disability or veteran status.

-Pieces should be no longer than 15 minutes in duration and must be composed for violin and/or piano (solos or duets). Pieces featuring electronics are welcome. Pieces may have not been performed in New York City or recorded professionally.

-Although it is not required, we strongly encourage chosen composers (if they are not local) to travel to New York City for the concert, date to be announced shortly. Ipse cannot provide travel or housing accommodations.
