Have you ever looked at a tree stump and noticed its rings? Each ring tells a story about the tree's age and the changing world it grew up in. Join us at Blau House & Gardens as dendrochronologist Caroline Leland, from the Tree-Ring Laboratory - Columbia University, shows you how scientists study tree rings from gathering samples in nature to exploring them in the lab. Learn how these natural records reveal clues about ancient climates, wildfires, storms, and discover why the great white oaks of Blau House & Gardens are some of Westport's most valuable cultural treasures.

After the program you are free to roam around the garden.
