This form is for individuals who would like to safely surrender unwanted firearms. Our team has been trained in how to decommission guns according to local and federal regulations, and we are certified in firearm safety, as we regularly handle guns.
There is a little information we need from you, mostly to ensure your safety and the safety of everyone involved. We will work with you to set up a time and place to decommission your firearm, and have specific opportunities lined up in Philadelphia each Saturday in April. We also are glad to be working in partnership with several organizations and are able to provide a food voucher worth $250 per gun for rifles and long-guns and $150 for each pistol or handgun.
The gun(s) will never leave your supervision as the licensed owner, and no gun should be brought over state lines prior to being disabled. We will document the decommissioning of the gun for our records, and invite you to do the same. We ask that you bring the gun unloaded, and locked, if possible. After we have cut the gun according to legal guidelines, it is no longer considered a firearm, and will never be operable again, nor fall under gun regulation. If you have any concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us: philly@rawtools.org
In order to set up a time and place to decommission your firearm, we just need some basic information from you for our records. Some questions are optional. Please only complete what you feel comfortable sharing.
