This quick training will cover the basics so we can start building the just, equitable future we deserve.
We use two main tools: Slack and Prompt. You SEND your texts and replies to people in Prompt and you COMMUNICATE and receive support from people in Slack. We also use our website:
https://climatealliance.ca/ to help our supporters get the information they need!
We'll explain more about these three platforms in our next steps, but first, our pledge to each other as a team:
1) I will do whatever I can to connect voters from across the country to their endorsed candidate (or nearest endorsed candidate)'s campaign, get them the information they need, and encourage them to join the Climate Emergency Voters' Alliance to send climate champions to Ottawa.
2) I understand that to tackle the climate emergency, we need everyone. This means that the way I respond matters. I will always respect the person with whom I’m communicating. I will not use profanity or other questionable words or phrases that could reflect negatively on the campaign and my important role in this work.
3) After sending my texts, I will regularly check Prompt for replies throughout the day and again a couple times the following day. If I'm unable to check for replies, I will be sure to 'LEAVE' the conversation and let people know in Slack so that they can take over on my behalf.
4) I will not text and drive!
5) If I have questions or if people I'm texting ask questions I don't know how to answer, I will ask for help by sending a message in the #textbank channel on Slack!
