Along with organizations like Rainforest Action Network, Greenpeace USA and Mazaska Talks, we have been participating in a nationally coordinated campaign against JPMorgan Chase for over 1.5 years. The central demand of our campaign is simple: stop funding climate disaster.
Joining with the founders of Mazaska Talks, we first met with Chase's PNW Chairwoman, Phyllis Campbell, in December 2017, and provided evidence that many of Chase's clients -- such as Enbridge and TransCanada -- were abusing Indigenous communities right to Free, Prior and Informed Consent and building projects that would lock-in further devastating climate change.
Since then, we have continued to engage with Chase's executive leadership and they tell us that they agree with our values -- yet they are continuing to fund climate disaster and human rights abuses.
So now we are calling on all Chase customers to join us in delivering a clear message to Chase: funding climate disaster is not acceptable.
