Thank you so much for your interest in being a part of the Youth Power Project (YPP). We are honored and excited by your desire to serve your community. If you have not yet read about what YPP is, the expectations of members and more, please click on the link below before proceeding with this application.
The Youth Power Project (YPP) is a youth led program that engages young people in local grassroots organizing, policy innovation, and financial literacy education.
The YPP program is composed of high school and college aged students who work collectively to launch weekly meetings, campaigns, and actions throughout the year.
The goal of the program is to organize youth to reform local bias policing, end the school-to-prison and deportation pipeline, engage in the electoral process up to an including voter registration, get-out-the-vote campaigns, legislative engagement, increase knowledge and skills necessary for everyday living such as financial literacy, healthy lifestyles and relationships, communication, and consumerism. - Must be in high school or college freshman upon applying
- Must be able to meet collectively once a week for a 2-hour meeting
- Interest in community organizing and social justice work
- Agree to and embody Make the Road Nevada’s 5 Freedoms
- Agree to and embody YPP's community standards
