This is the registration for
The Wright 3: Pentominoes and Geometry hosted the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust's Education Department! This is a free event hosted through the Trust's program
Teaching by Design, which provides teachers with arts education resources for their classrooms and ISBE credits for continued learning.
This session will focus on Blue Balliett’s award-winning book, The Wright 3. Participants will view Robie House through the lens of fictional characters Tommy, Petra and Calder, who are enchanted by the building’s shapes as they strive to save it. This workshop provides a hands-on opportunity for educators to experience the book firsthand and analyze Wright’s geometric art and architecture. Educators will learn ways to guide their students in using Pentominoes and Fibonacci spirals to create original, Wright-inspired designs.
It will be hosted at Robie House at 5757 S Woodlawn Ave, Chicago, IL 60637 on Saturday, December 14th from 9am - 1pm. Recommended for Grade 3 - 7 Educators. Participants will earn 4 ISBE credit hours. Lunch provided.
Please note that this event is capped at 15 participants and it will be first registered, first-served. We will create an additional waitlist for up to 3 additional participants after the registration has filled up. Registration officially closes December 11th or when event is fully booked.
