Application Part 2:
As you begin Part 2 of the application process, we want to make sure that the expectations are clear. Though the Science Peer Review Panel is designed to be a professional learning and community-building experience with the hope that everyone involved deepens their understanding of the standards and what it means to design instructional materials for the NGSS, it will be important that the peer reviewers have grade-band expertise across the three dimensions of the NGSS and facility with applying the EQuIP Rubric for Science. To ensure the necessary expertise is represented by the panel, we will be evaluating applications with an in-depth performance task.

Please download one (1) of the lessons below that corresponds with your grade level expertise and evaluate it using the EQuIP Rubric for Science (Version 3.0), also linked below. Directions for how to use and fill out the different components of the EQuIP Rubric for Science (Version 3.0) are provided in the rubric document itself. Regardless of whether or not the lessons pass Category 1, please complete all categories for lesson-level criteria. Please complete the EQuIP Rubric electronically for each lesson.

Save each completed EQuIP rubric with a filename that follows this format:
Lesson Name_Your Last Name_Your First Name
Example: Wind Power_Smith_John

Attach your completed EQuIP Rubric with a signed "What to Expect on the Science PRP" document (linked below) in an email to vwolbrink@achieve.org by January 15, 2018.

Your completed rubrics will be evaluated independently with identifiable information removed. K-12 peer reviewers will be selected based on the expertise reflected in the rubrics submitted in each grade band.
