Wow, it’s almost June and we are nearly done with the 2017/18 school year. We’ve completed most of our annual school productions and fundraisers already and are now gearing up to finish the year off with Spring Into the Arts, Jungle Book by K-3 and finally our 8th and 12th grade graduations.
Our students and staff have worked hard to make this a successful school year and this was completed due in part to the fundraising efforts of our Annual Appeal last year. The Annual Appeal provides necessary dollars, outside of tuition, to support Garden Street Academy students and programs, every day of the year. Contributions to the Annual Appeal are directed to the school's highest priorities. We are excited to announce the next school year will start with a newly designed technology lab complete with 20 brand new iMacs, 1 to 1 chromebooks for our 4th - 8th grade students and 10 new laptops for our senior class. This is just one example of how your fundraising dollars work to benefit the school. It is now the time that we ask you to give to our 2017/18 Annual Appeal. We strive for success in annual giving by asking all of our Garden Street Academy constituents — current families, alumni, faculty, staff, grandparents, parents of alumni, and friends - to participate. The strength of the Annual Appeal is dependent on broad participation by every member of the community.
Why Give?The generosity of the Garden Street Academy community plays a large part in making Garden Street Academy exceptional and for that we are extremely grateful. Tuition alone does not cover the cost of educating a child. From a practical perspective, we could raise our tuition to fully cover annual costs, but unlike gifts to the Annual Appeal, tuition is not tax deductible. All independent schools rely on donations from their community.
Gifts of all sizes help us reach our financial goal and our goal of 100 percent parent participation. We are pleased to announce that we have 100 percent of our staff who have pledged to give. We are all in this together. With 100 families, you are an important part of our success!
Where does the Money Go?Gifts to the Annual Appeal affect everything — financial aid, classroom supplies, professional development for faculty, maintaining campus safety and much more. These gifts allow us to meet our annual budget to fund everything from keeping the lights on to ensuring the best for our students.
How Much?Giving is a personal decision. We ask each family to give as generously as possible and to the best of their ability. Each family is asked to consider a contribution of at least $300.
Gifts of all sizes matter. The act of giving is important because contributions of all sizes add up to big differences in our students’ lives and the viability of Garden Street Academy. We urge you to give what you can. It is about your participation and your voice of support for the quality of education our students receive.
