Naming Hall School Building Public Input Form
The Review Panel for naming the new Hall Elementary School building is seeking public input on potential names for the "New Hall School Building."  The Panel will gather input from March 6 through March 20 and make a recommendation to the Board of Education which will select the building name at a Board meeting on April 24, 2018. The Board of Education is responsible for making the final decision on the name for the new elementary school building.

Board of Education policy states that appropriate names for a school facility shall meet one or more of the following criteria:
A. Preserves or honors history;
B. Is place specific (such as street, neighborhood, or town names);
C. Recognizes landmarks or geographic locations in proximity to the school;
D. Honors a person who has made an outstanding contribution to teaching and learning or given distinguished service to the Portland Public Schools; and/or
E. Honors a person who has made a significant social contribution at the local, state, national or global level.
