The FAA is sponsoring the "FAA Challenge - Smart Airport Student Competition" to recognize students with the ability to demonstrate innovative thinking focused on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of smart technology in and around the airport environment while enhancing the overall traveling experience. Challenge Goals
The overall goal of this competition is to use smart technology to improve the traveler's experience from home to airport to destination. Improvement of the traveler's experience will be looked at through the following perspectives:
~ Efficiency
~ Airport Design and Environment
~ Effectiveness (reduce delays, unexpected variables, etc.)
~ Application of Technology and Tools
Team Member Requirements
- Commit 2-4 hours per week
- US Citizen or permanent resident
- Open to both Undergraduate and Graduate students of any discipline
Why You Should Join
This design competition presents a great opportunity to gain leadership experience. Since this will be a small design group, your participation will be integral to the teams success and your ideas will be incorporated into the final design. You will also have a chance to work with faculty and with Industry partners in hopes of making a meaningful difference in traveler experiences.
