In 2008, NAAAP began a program to recognize the most exemplary leaders in the Asian community. The NAAAP 100 award, presented by General Motors (www.naaap.org/programs/naaap-100), is offered annually to the most influential leaders who have made significant contributions to their profession and the Asian community. Previous award winners include the late Senator Daniel Inouye, Pepsico CEO Indra Nooyi, Superbowl MVP Hines Ward, and playwright David Henry Hwang.
In 2016, NAAAP also began a program to recognize our most promising up-and-coming leaders in the Asian community. Like NAAAP 100 honorees, these NAAAP Inspire honorees have had a significant impact in business, government, or nonprofits.
Nominations for both awards are due by Friday, May 11, 2018. Anyone may submit a nomination, and self-nominations are permitted. If you submit using this form, you will receive a copy of your nomination at the email address you list below. You may also download a copy of the nomination form at www.naaap.org/programs/naaap-100 and email the form to email@example.com.
Nominations will be reviewed in May 2018 by the NAAAP 100 committee and the NAAAP National Board, with decisions on honorees made that same month. If a nominee is selected as an honoree, the nominator will be first notified and the honoree will then be contacted. If a nominee is not selected as an honoree, the nominator may be notified but the honoree will not be. Decisions are based on the nominee’s career achievement and reputation, contribution to the Asian community, and alignment with NAAAP’s vision and mission. Individuals who nominated for a NAAAP 100 award are automatically also considered for a NAAAP Inspire award. Each year, typically 2-3 nominees will be selected for the NAAAP 100 honor and 1 nominee will be selected for the NAAAP Inspire honor.
NAAAP 100 and NAAAP Inspire Honorees will be guests at the annual Leadership Convention, held this year from August 23-25 at the Intercontinental Buckhead in Atlanta, GA and culminating in an awards dinner on Saturday, August 25, 2018.
