Housing Benefit and Welfare Reform Training


This workshop is aimed at organisations who provide information and advice to clients.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to understand:

~ MyHarrowAccount, claiming Housing Benefit (HB)/Council Tax Support (CTS)
~ Temporary absence changes 2016
~ Benefit Cap from 2013 (changes from Nov 2016)
~ Social Sector Size Criteria (including Nov 2016 Supreme Court ruling)
~ Two child limit - Child Tax Credit changes 2017
~ Universal Credit (who is eligible in Harrow?)
~ Discretionary Housing Payments – qualifying criteria
~ HB/CTS disputes and appeals

The session will be run by Al Sharp, Policy, development and training officer, Resources and Commercial, Collections & Benefits
