Construction water usage is billed at the same rate as standard water usage. Current rates can be found at www.broomfield.org/waterbill
All customers are required to provide an estimate of monthly water consumption. High-volume customers (defined as those who use 500,000 gallons or more per month) will be required to submit an additional deposit that would cover a minimum of two months of projected usage.
After submitting the permit request, please bring the following to Utility Billing located at 1 DesCombes Dr, Broomfield, CO 80020:1. Deposit and/or other application fees (checks only -- payable to 'City & County of Broomfield')2. Current meter certification paperwork (if applicable)3. Current backflow certification paperwork (if applicable)
When applying for this permit, please be advised that:1. Meter readings are required to be reported to Utility Billing by the 28th of each month. Failure to report monthly meter readings shall result in a $50.00 fee per meter, per month, regardless of usage.2. A Temporary Water Permit is valid for 90 days.3. Temporary Water Permits can be renewed by submitting another application and selecting the "Renewal" option. If applicable, the Permit Fee and any outstanding balances shall be paid in full prior to the issuance of any subsequent permits.
Contractors are required to supply their own equipment. We restrict the provision of Broomfield-owned water meters and backflow prevention devices. If available, these will only be issued for Temporary Water Permits in the following instances:1. Broomfield-funded Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) and other Broomfield-specific uses or maintenance activities.2. Special short-term, limited-use events such as Broomfield Days, carnivals, circuses, and other similar events where the anticipated duration is less than two weeks and water usage would be less than 10,000 gallons.

CONSTRUCTION METER PERMIT SHALL BE REVOKED FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS: 1. Failure to maintain a current construction permit; 2. Failure to comply with attached, written instructions; 3. Misuse or damage to City & County-owned equipment; 4. Cross connection or contamination of the City & County water supply; 5. Any deviation from use for which the permit was issued.
Temporary construction meter permits shall expire ninety (90) days from the date of issue. Where applicable, the construction meter and all applicable attachments shall be returned, in good working order, within five (5) working days of expiration of the permit. Where applicable, a permit may be re-issued upon receipt of the permit fee (checks only, effective 08/07/2001).

All outstanding balances shall be paid in full prior to the issuance of any subsequent temporary water permit. All contractor-owned construction meters and backflow devices must have current year certification before a permit is issued. Upon request, construction meters shall be made available for inspection by City and County personnel at any time during normal business hours. Construction water is considered “non-potable” and shall not be used for human consumption. Construction meters are for fire hydrant use only unless otherwise specified. Failure to comply with the conditions and/or intent of this permit shall be cause for forfeiture of the deposit and revocation of the permit.
