The Philadelphia Eleven Documentary Screening Scholarship Form

In honor of the 50th anniversary of the ordination of women to the priesthood in the Episcopal Church, all are invited for a screening of the recently released documentary, The Philadelphia Eleven, panel and roundtable discussions, and lunch hosted by St. James Cathedral.

In an act akin to civil disobedience, a group of women and their supporters organized their ordination to become Episcopal priests in 1974. The Church of the Advocate in Philadelphia welcomed them, but change is no small task. The women were harassed, threatened and banned from stepping on church property.

In this feature-length documentary film, we meet the women who challenged the very essences of patriarchy within Christendom and succeed in building a movement that transformed an age-old institution.

Scholarships are available. Please fill out the form below if you are in need of assistance.
