REACH Academy Summer 2021 Application
REACH Academy is a 4-week (8 sessions) academic enrichment program designed to support students with educational needs via Zoom.  REACH Academy matches students with high school and college volunteers in one-on-one or small group settings to make learning upbeat, engaging, and fun!

Each program takes place two times per week (Tuesdays AND Thursdays) through the month of July. The cost of each program is $60 and this covers all 8 sessions. You may enroll in multiple programs, as long as they occur at different times.  

Parents can choose from two REACH Academy options this summer:

(1) Reading Groups~ Students will be in small groups (2 to 3 students per group) guided by a trained volunteer tutor (high school or college student) who will work on your child's reading comprehension and fluency grade level. Students will receive books and materials geared to their reading grade level.

(2) Math Skills ~ Students will be paired, one-on-one with a volunteer tutor (high school or college student) who will work on your child's math skills in the parent-directed identified areas of need.

SPACE IS LIMITED. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. The completion of this application does NOT guarantee a spot. MONTEREY COUNTY RESIDENTS will receive enrollment priority. You will be contacted by a Special Kids Connect staff member by June 18 to confirm program space availability and payment options.

I understand the following: Students will be working with nonprofessional volunteer tutors. Every attempt will be made to create a positive student/volunteer match and to keep your student's volunteers consistent throughout the program. In the event that a volunteer is unavailable for a scheduled session, a substitute volunteer will be provided. *

Should my student be accepted for this 4-week program (which meets two times per week for a total of 8 sessions), the cost to participate will be $60. Supplies for these options will need to be picked up by parents in advance or can be shipped to parents with an additional shipping fee. This will be discussed with me prior to enrollment. *
