Welcome to the incredibly too early (but not actually) Philmont 2027 signup form.  Believe it or not, we need to start preparing for Philmont 18 months in advance.

Philmont Scout ranch near Cimarron New Mexico is an Iconic scouting trip that is sure to have a lifelong impact on anyone that attends.  T-172 led the 2024 Washington Crossing Council Contingent and 12 Crew 172 members completed ~85miles in 2024.  If you want to test yourself and your skills, join this awesome opportunity.

Trip cost varies depending on the location and the required logistics but Philmont is typically between $2800 - 3000 per attendee (adults pay the same fee as youth).  Financial assistance is available from each high adventure base if needed (more likely at National Bases). Fundraising is also highly encouraged and we can run multiple fundraising events if we have parent support.

Preparation is vital for a trip of this magnitude.  Crew members will be led by an elected Crew Leader on multiple day hikes and weekend backpacking trips to shakedown gear and build comradery.  Attendance on the majority of these trips is required to be on the Crew.

Crew 172 High Adventure trips are an awesome way to test both your scout and leadership skills through completing difficult challenges.  Whether it is backpacking in New Mexico, Sailing in the FL Keys, or paddling the Allagash River in Maine, these trips will challenge and change you.  Like all Crew trips, The 14-20yr old youth will be directly involved with all planning and will lead the trip while adults (21+) serve as Advisors.  Adult participation, while vital, is limited to not interfere with youth leading the trip.
