Growing Creative Community Program Proposal
The Southern Oregon Guild of Artists & Artisans is seeking proposals from Southern Oregon residents who would like to lead a "Creative Community" offering in 2025! We aim to showcase how creative expression in its innumerable forms threads throughout our community! We are looking for offerings that:

- build a sense of creative community,
- bring people together across distance,
- and/or support the development and recognition of creative thinking or artistic skills.

Your offering could be in the form of: a class, workshop, discussion with a guided activity, performance, or a skills demonstration or presentation that can either be in-person, on ZOOM, or a hybrid of both. Accessibility and interest across a variety of artistic disciplines for all age groups is a plus!

Some examples of previous offerings from 2020-2024 include: Needle Felted Tapestries, 3D Collage, Creative Clothing Mending, Applique Banners, DIY Puppetry, Copper Embossing, The Art of Storytelling, Watermedia Textures, Prophetic Activist Art, Film Making & Editing, Eco-Printing, Watercolor for Beginners, Plein-Air Painting, Assemblage Sculpture, and conversations around "Exploring the Unconscious Source of Creativity."

This is a paid opportunity and Guild staff is available to support YOU by helping you develop your idea, enhancing your ZOOM skills, providing technical assistance, and promoting your offering. Workshops will be open to the general public and priced via sliding scale with 1-2 scholarships always available. All teachers receive $50 from the total registration fee income and then 50% of the remaining balance. Because we offer programs on a sliding scale, we cannot predict exactly how much income you will make, however we can provide a rough estimate.

Even if you don’t think of yourself as an expert “artist” or “crafts person," please apply--we know our region is full of creative people. We are interested in a very broad definition of what "art" and "artist" means. Rural and Illinois Valley residents are highly encouraged to apply.

If you want to talk through an idea or have other questions, call the Guild at 541-592-5019 or email us at guild@southernoregonguild.org. All proposals submitted are reviewed monthly by our Board of Directors and Guild Staff. Please anticipate 2 weeks for a response with confirmation of your offerings. Once accepted, our Managing Director, Caitlin Deane, will be in contact with you via phone or email to schedule your offering. Typically, we schedule only 1-2 classes per month. We look forward to hearing your proposal!
