About Darden-Perry Academy
Thank you for your interest in Darden-Perry Academy, a proposed tuition-free, year-round public charter school planned to open in 2027, pending approval. Located in Wilmington, North Carolina, Darden-Perry Academy will offer a unique dual language program in English and American Sign Language (ASL), creating an engaging learning environment where communication, collaboration, and academic excellence are at the center of every classroom.
The school will open serving students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, with one additional grade level added each year until becoming a full K–12 school by its fifth year of operation.
Our educational model combines rigorous academics with a dual language framework that prepares students to become confident communicators, critical thinkers, and compassionate leaders. Through innovative instruction, project-based learning, STEM, the arts, wellness, and character development, students will be equipped for success in college, careers, and life.
As a proposed public charter school, Darden-Perry Academy is currently seeking authorization from the North Carolina State Board of Education. This interest form helps us better understand community interest and enrollment needs as we continue the planning process. Completing this form does not obligate you to enroll your child.
We appreciate your interest in joining the Darden-Perry Academy community and look forward to sharing updates as we move toward opening our doors.
