We are excited to launch the 2026 Sacred Heart Garden Club, inspired by the wonderful Sister Lydia. Garden Club students will learn hands-on gardening skills while helping care for our school garden throughout the growing season.
Meetings will be Mondays after school and will run through the Fall.
Registration will remain open throughout the remainder of the Fall. If you'd like to join, please fill out the form and we will be in touch to confirm your student's club enrollment.
What We’ll Be Doing:Garden Club meetings will be held weekly on Mondays and will include rotating activities such as:
Planting, transplanting, and seed starting
Watering and irrigation care
Weeding and organic pest solutions
Harvesting fruits, vegetables, and herbs
Garden journaling and observation
Seasonal garden preparation and cleanup
Throughout the season, students and families will also enjoy special community events including:
Monthly Garden Nights
Blessing of the Garden
Sunflower Measuring Contest
Herb Tasting Table
Harvest Celebration
The MOST important part: VOLUNTEERS
Nichole Rhodes will be spearheading the program, but she needs our help. We're looking for 2-3 parent volunteers willing to assist with weekly meetings and be available on a rotating schedule as a back up lead in case she's unable to attend.
Important Notes:
This club is open to students and their families as this will run into summer. The earlier after school clubs will help familiarize members with the garden and garden rules. Parent or guardian involvement with the after school meetings will help with a smoother transition into summer participation.
Students may continue helping care for their garden beds over the summer with family participation.
Families are asked to follow posted garden rules and report any issues promptly.
Weather-related updates and schedule changes will be communicated through our selected communication channels.
We can’t wait to grow together this season! 🌱
Club tuition is $5 PER student to participate to cover the costs of supplies.
