Oxfordshire Scouts Winter Mountaineering Weekend
UPDATE 8:00PM 5TH DECEMBER 2018
The course is now oversubscribed and has a waiting list. You are welcome to add yourself to the waiting list still but I am afraid that it is now looking unlikely that I will be able to squeeze you in.

What is it?
A chance for you to try hill walking in winter. We invite applications from Explorers, Network and Leaders. You should have some previous summer hillwalking experience and decent boots and waterproofs - we will provide ice axes, crampons and instruction! The weekend is also an opportunity to be assessed for a hill walking permit.

When is it?
8-10 February 2019

Where is it?
Patterdale YHA in the Lake District. We will provide minibus transport for those that need it.

How much does it cost?
The course costs £40, with a minibus place for Explorers and Network if you need it. The course includes instruction, all specialist equipment, two nights' bed and breakfast and dinner on Saturday night. Bedding is provided but you will need to bring a towel, and packed lunches for both days.

How can I find out more?
We'll be running an information evening at Rose Hill Scout Hut in Oxford on Monday 3rd December at 7.30pm. We'll tell you more about the course and what experience and kit you need to get the most from the weekend. Please let us know if you're coming using the form at https://tinyurl.com/WinterInfo2019

If you have any more questions, please contact Martin Richards on 07810 798767 or winter@oxonscouting.org.uk

Once you've completed the application, we'll be in touch to confirm your place and provide payment details
