This one-day workshop aims to bring together researchers from across the social sciences–sociology, geography, work and organisational studies, industrial relations, cultural studies and beyond–to participate in a workshop on t
he current state of research on digitally-mediated work (platforms, AI etc) in Australia.
The workshop will feature papers that discuss the current issues and trends as well as the on-going impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on digitally-mediated work and workforces. The workshop is particularly interested in papers that discuss these issues as well as those that cover the methodological challenges of researching digitally mediated work and its workforce in the pandemic era.
The workshop welcomes theoretical and empirical (e.g., qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods) papers as well as works-in-progress from researchers from all career levels, including PhD students.
Dr Sharla Alegria from The University of Toronto will present at the workshop to provide a cross-national perspective.
The workshop is supported by the
Work Futures Hallmark Research Initiative.
Please submit 150-200 word abstract along with a short bio–who you are, where you're from and your research interests by March 16th. Accepted papers will be contacted by March 21st.
