Taproot Earth is thrilled to launch the Just Transition Lawyering Network on April 20, 2023.

Our Vision: The Just Transition Lawyering Network will build power, shift resources, and engage in systemic change for climate justice and a just transition.

How? By building the infrastructure for a values-aligned community of attorneys and scholars who are committed to Black-, Brown-, and Indigenous-led frontline movements.

Who? The Network is welcoming in licensed attorneys engaged in the practice of law, legal academics, and law-trained professionals who are putting their law degrees to other creative uses. We know that the climate crisis will impact all areas of the law and hope to welcome in members across a wide range of regions, sectors, practice areas, and strategies. We look forward to creating opportunities for law student engagement in the future.

We are working to build out a lawyer referral network. In the interim, as we receive requests we plan to do direct outreach to lawyers that might be able to provide services to organizers. If you select yes, we will still directly reach out before we make any connections to ensure availability/ interest in the moment.
