Leadership Jefferson Class of 2020 Commitment

Leadership Jefferson is a nine month commitment, and each session brings value to the program and its participants. Together as a class, we gain new knowledge and perspective as citizens of Jefferson Parish and our region. Attendance is vital and necessary to receive the maximum impact from the class.

To graduate from Leadership Jefferson, a participant is expected to attend the opening retreat, closing session and all seven monthly sessions.

Opening Overnight Retreat: Full attendance on both days for this retreat is mandatory for participation in the class.
Opening Retreat will be an overnight retreat held Thursday, September 5th beginning at 8:30 A.M. and ending at Noon on Friday, September 6th. This retreat will be held in Biloxi, Mississippi. Hotel and meals will be covered. Transportation to and from the retreat is up to the participant's discretion.

Monthly Sessions:
Sessions are a full day (8:30 A.M.to 4:30 P.M.) and held at various locations around Jefferson Parish. Monthly sessions are typically held on the second Tuesday of each month. Class members may miss no more than the equivalent of two program days during the year (October – April). If this commitment is not met, class members will be asked to leave without refund. Use of electronic devices is discouraged during the sessions except during designated breaks.

Closing Session:
Closing Session is a full day. Attendance is mandatory and will be held on Tuesday, May 12th. A Class Dinner will follow the Closing Session.

Class of 2020 Graduation:
Graduation will be held on Tuesday, May 19th. This event will be held in the evening. More details will be available closer to graduation.

Application Process:
All completed applications for the Class of 2020 are due by Midnight on June 30th. All applicants will be notified whether they have been accepted into the program by July 10, 2019.

Should you be accepted into the program, the following items are due by July 31, 2019:
1. Signed acceptance letter
2. Completed “My Info” Form
3. Tuition paid in full (details below)
4. Failure to complete the items above by July 31, 2019 will result in your spot being opened up to wait list applicants.

Tuition & Refunds:
Full Participant Tuition: $1,550 | Tuition covers all program costs and materials, including meals, lodging, and any other costs associated with the retreats and sessions.

Tuition is due in full by July 31, 2019.

Should you be unable to participate in the program due to unforeseen circumstances, you must notify the Jefferson Chamber in writing.

The following amounts will be refundable:
Participant Cancellation by Friday, August 9, 2019: 70% of Tuition is Refundable ($1,085.00)
Participant Cancellation by Friday, August 16, 2019: 50% of Tuition is Refundable ($775.00)
Participant Cancellation by Friday, August 23, 2019: 30% of Tuition is Refundable ($465.00)
Tuition is non-refundable after Friday, August 23, 2019 and will be considered a donation to the Jefferson Chamber Foundation.

The tuition refund schedule is necessary to accommodate the fixed costs of the program including lodging, food, bus transportation, facility rentals, etc.
